'Distance means so little when someone means so much'
'Smile to everyone you meet today, they might be your best friend'
I cannot tell when this friendship is formed, we met in the kitchen I remembered, with a smile. Sophie, one of my friend from France. A very pretty, nice, friendly girl whom I met 2 years ago. Never knew we could be close friends, and today, I'm so glad that you moved to the house 2 years ago and we became friends.
Memories we had together, tough time we spent together and now it became sweet memories.
#1- The video remember?
I participate and recorded a video for the Cardiff International Student Department about ' Malaysian Experiences Studying in Cardiff'. Sophie and I were in the video and she helps a lot. She is willing to be in the part of the video. How nice! She never even think about it and say Yes to me when I asked.
#2- Halloween Night
So Sophie and I together joined the Halloween Party in our house. We dressed up, have fun and we take kinda many pictures but most of them are in group.
#3- Zi's Cafe with housemates
Time flies. Everyone is about to leave so we decided to go for a meal at Zi's Cafe. Sophie loves Asian food, especially Chinese Buffet!
I don't have the picture w me now so I took from Sophie's! :)
#4: Breakfast with Sophie
Our kind of private date, we went for a breakfast and it was good. The weather was good, the food was delicious. I miss those days and I thought we should go for more.
#5: Classes. exams and EU discussion in the kitchen with Ben!
Do you remember we spent a day in the kitchen discussing EU Law? It was a bad memory for me back then yet you tried to explain to me how EU law works in EU. You try so hard to type all what you know in FB for me so that I could understand from sketch. I remember and I'm very thankful for your effort.
Even after Sophie leaves Cardiff, she never failed to send me messages, and meet me when she came for a visit, and so the list continues..
#6 Lunch at Henry's Bar Cafe for her weekend getaway in Cardiff
This meet up session was so different. She stories me her life back in Paris. I knew that she misses Cardiff a lot. So she took a picture of me! :P
#7: Sophie visited my new house in 39 Colum Road
Still remember I was having exams. She apologies. There is no need for you to say Sorry Sophie, you never disturb us. Thanks for visiting. She even hand me a card with all the motivational words and wish me the best of luck!
Picture taken in Sarah's room.
#8 Another visit during Chinese New Year
Did I mention Sophie loves Chinese food? There you go, we were in Malaysian Cafe. Surprisingly she had Nasi Lemak/Laksa , I guess she just loves Asian food! Heh
#9 Sophie supports Malaysian Night- Festival of Diversity for 2 years!
Couldn't' find that picture at the moment. Worth to mention, even Malaysian sometimes are not supportive. Sophie came to FOD for two years in a row and I'm so glad that she enjoyed the show.
When all of us are back to our country,
And so we Skype..
We are both busy with our studies, hanging out with friends, living different type of lifestyle, communicate in different language, having time difference, yet sometime I just want to hold on to this friendship because it matters.
Friendship is a sweet responsibility, not an opportunity. It continues to grow, even over the longest distance.
Through miles may lie between us, we are never far apart, for friendship doesn't count the miles.
It measured by the heart. I always remind myself how lucky I am to have someone so special like you.
I promised that no matter how busy I am, how my life is going to be, I will remember you, most importantly, keeping in touch with you. Thankyou for the friendship, Sophie. One day, although I do not know when, we have to meet either in Malaysia or in Paris!!
Please bring me to the best coffee shop in Paris, please allow me to sleepover at your room where I can wake up and sleep with the Eiffel tower. I promise to bring you to the best Chinese Buffet, bring you to the hottest and nicest beach!
We have to do this Sophie! - I am getting excited! lol
The tenth. #10 goes to
Aww that's such a sweet article!! You know you mean a lot to me and I am so happy I have such a wonderful friend! I am very busy because of my studies but as soon as I can, I will definitely come to Malaysia, since I have never been there, neither have I been to Asia! And what can be better than discovering a new country and continent with such a sweet person like you! I promise we will always keep in touch because I love hearing from you! I miss you a lot but I know distance does not mean anything when I know our friendship is strong! Lots of love! xxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Sophie, you're too sweet.
ReplyDeleteMiss you more.
I want to remember these memories, the reason why I wrote and keep for my own.
I believe at some point when I read back, I'll smile. xoxo
